Gallery Exhibition: On the Edge of Light - Harlem 2012

Curated by PSCOTT and Ken Fitch

A Visual Artist Turns Designer
The unique exhibition will focus on some of the most remarkable of PSCOTT fashion drawings, collages, photographs and uniquely designed fashion creations from the past 12 years.  The collections of original drawings and collages will demonstrate PSCOTT's art of fashion illustration that forms the basic vision for various collections created during the past decade and explores the interplay between art, photography, fashion and product.  Our special feature of the exhibition is the demonstration of the process of envisioning the design and then following the process of realizing the design from construction to finished product in photo documentation.

The exhibition will reveal PSCOTT's meticulous and inventive uses of all media and the strength of the personal language of his art that expresses not only the spirit and the style of PSCOTT, but also the wider effects of his lifestyle brand.

PSCOTT Photo Montages
A signature of his output has been a series of large photo montages that has helped illustrate his ideas and the process behind each collection. These beautiful, constructive works are unique creations that convey the context of collections from previous seasons.  Whether clothes are for sleeping, garments to entertain, or accessories that enhance daily activities, PSCOTT's work is understood by the narratives that provide fashion for each and every day.

PSCOTT - A Harlem Artist
PSCOTT as a Harlem artist, photographer and designer/image-maker, pays homage to the unique style of inner-city Harlem in the 21st century.  He has been a resident since the 1990s and attended the City College of New York located in Harlem and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honours.  Some of PSCOTT's documentation of his collection and products paint a vivid picture of cultural vitality and the gentrification of Harlem today. Importantly, it provides us with a record of inner-city Harlem in the 21st century.  PSCOTT is recognized as an influential force in the image-making industry and has enhanced the appearances of Multi Platinum Grammy, Tony and Academy Award winners: Melba Moore, Teddy Riley, Denzel Washington, Cher, Eric Clapton, Samuel L. Jackson, Nancy Wilson, Roberta Flack, George Benson, and Babyface to name a few.

PSCOTT DRAWINGS Winter 2012

His presentations are akin to informal gatherings with models casually seated or involved in theatrical or choreographed expressions in which the audience physically engages with our collections which encourages interpretations and discoveries.  His numerous events have been staged in art studios, lofts, galleries, museums and outdoor environments.

"Clothing is the most intimate of art forms and has become the means to search for our personal lifestyle identity."

"My collections are not driven by market forces of the fashion industry.  They are a form of dialog and exchange and are inspired by disciplines as diverse as fine art, performance art, theater, music or sports."

The above pics:  PSCOTT documented his Fitwear 2011 Collection with model, Ike Love - 9/9/12

Ike Love was discovered by PSCOTT in the early 2000s on the streets of Brooklyn at the West Indian Day parade.  What struck PSCOTT about Ike Love was his chiseled jaw line, his ethnic ambiguity and his amazing, statuesque physique. Since then, Ike Love has become one of the staple models in PSCOTT's camp, representing the PSCOTT Lifestyle Brand through PSCOTT underwear, sportwear and fine art.  As an emerging icon, Ike Love's uncanny ability to combine fashion and fine art is in sync with one of many facets that expressed by the PSCOTT Lifestyle Brand.  He can be reached at ikelove1@aol.com.
